Portfolio: Tasmin Little
We have worked for Internationally renowned concert violinist Tasmin Little on a number of occasions. Initially hosting her "Naked Violin" project where she gave away an album for free, we also broadcast a performance of the project from our central Edinburgh studios.
Tasmin was the subject of an ongoing South Bank show, so the BBC were also there, filming us, filming them.
Recording a new free CD to be made available for free download from her own website - www.tasminlittle.org.uk and including free downloadable spoken introductions to each work, this recording of Bach, Patterson and Ysäye provided a free opportunity for anyone, anywhere in the world, to experience the huge range of styles and expressions that a single, unadorned violin can produce. Within days of the release of 'The Naked Violin' there were over 6,000 international websites linked to Tasmin’s site. Major articles and radio interviews on the project began appearing in The Times, The Guardian, New York Times, Le Monde, The Age to mention but a few. It kick-started the whole debate about the place of classical music in today’s society.
